Hand baggage






You can bring hand baggage on all Armenia Airways flights as long as it complies with our hand baggage rules. Here, you will find all the information regarding Armenia Airways' hand baggage allowance, smart bag travel, and items that should not be included in your carry-on bag.
*Each piece of hand baggage must not weigh more than 7 kg.
Each item of hand baggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions so you can store it in the overhead locker.
Within your main hand baggage allowance, you can carry one of the following types of bag not exceeding the dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm, which can be stored under the seat in front of you:
One laptop bag
orOne ladies' handbag
orOne gentleman's satchel
At the Check-in Desk
If your hand baggage is too large or heavy to carry on board, you must check it in at the Armenia Airways check-in desk. Alternatively, you can remove items from your hand baggage and place them in your checked baggage, provided this is within your baggage allowance and subject to any applicable excess baggage fees.
Before you check-in your hand baggage, please remove any valuable items, such as money, jewelry, precious metals, and important documents, including passports, business papers, and securities deeds.
At the boarding gate
all hand baggage, including duty-free purchases, will be checked for weight and size limitations. If your hand baggage exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions or weight, an AMD 4000 or USD 10 fee will be charged for each piece. This amount may vary depending on applicable local fees and taxes.
Electronic Devices On Board:
If you carry a damaged, defective, or recalled battery or device, it must be turned off, protected from accidental activation, and not charged at any time. If any device you carry becomes damaged, overheats produces smoke, is lost, or falls into the seat, please notify our cabin crew immediately. Do not attempt to operate or move the seat, as this may cause further damage to your device.

For your safety and that of other passengers, there are certain items that you cannot carry in your hand baggage. Please read more about forbidden items in hand baggage.
Passengers traveling with infants
If you are traveling with an infant and your flight fare includes baggage, you are allowed to carry 10 kg of checked baggage
Traveling with smart bags
Armenia Airways does not accept smart bags, neither for checked baggage nor as hand luggage.

Checked baggage
Checked baggage guidelines
Checked baggage must have at least one flat surface and should not contain any loose straps.
Checked baggage must be robust, properly packed, and secured to withstand the everyday rigors of air travel without getting damaged.
Checked baggage items should not be attached.
Maximum number of items
You can check in up to 2 pieces of baggage, provided their total weight does not exceed the allowance specified in your booking confirmation.
Maximum dimensions
Should not exceed 158 cm - height + width + depth. Bags exceeding this limit will not be accepted as checked baggage.
Maximum weight
Each piece of baggage has to weigh less than 30 kg.
A tag, or a secure sticker, containing the passenger’s name, complete address, and telephone number must be added to and inside each item of checked baggage.
You must not include any valuable items (including, for example, money, jewelry, precious metals) or valuable documents (including, for example, business documents, passports, other identification documents, negotiable papers, or securities deeds) in your checked baggage.

Lithium batteries
Batteries (or devices with batteries) that are damaged, defective, or recalled
Items that are illegal in the country you’re traveling to or from
Hoverboards
Restrictions on personal motorized vehicles and lithium battery-powered items
For safety reasons, we do not allow lithium battery-powered items on our flights. This includes hoverboards, mini Segways, balance wheels, solo wheels, and rideable electric motorized bags. This restriction applies to both carry-on and checked baggage. If you carry any of these items, with or without batteries, in your hand or checked luggage, you will not be permitted to take them on your flight.

Hypodermic needles (unless you have a medical certificate explaining why you need them)
Sporting bats and clubs

Any medication that you might need during your flight or trip

Portable electronic devices in your checked baggage
Please ensure that any portable electronic devices in your checked baggage are turned off and cannot be accidentally activated during the flight.
Important information about the carriage of e-cigarettes
For safety reasons, e-cigarettes are not allowed in checked baggage. You may only carry e-cigarettes in your hand luggage on our flights. Additionally, please be aware that using, operating, or charging e-cigarettes is prohibited on board our flights and in the vicinity of our aircraft.

Excess baggage
Passengers must pay extra fees for any weight that exceeds their allowance.
The fee for excess baggage weighing 1 kg from Yerevan to your destination is AMD 3000
Please get in touch with the Armenian Airways staff at the airport check-in counter to pay your excess baggage fee.
Remember to ask for the payment receipt and keep it until you arrive at your destination.

Delayed or damaged baggage
If your baggage has not arrived, please get in touch with the baggage tracing service and fill out the unique form before leaving the arrivals area.
If you have questions about tracing your baggage or need to change the submitted form, please call the number listed on the baggage non-arrival report (PIR).
Please hold onto your flight documents, especially the boarding pass and the baggage tag.
If your baggage does not arrive, we will trace it for up to 45 days from receiving your report. You may submit a written claim to the carrier if your baggage is not within this timeframe. Compensation, if applicable, will be processed according to the policies of Armenia Airways and relevant international conventions.
