Travelling with pet

We adhere to IATA's strict Live Animal Regulations (LAR). Regardless of your option, you can rest assured that your pets are always in the hands of trained and experienced animal welfare professionals, operating in a safe and clean environment.

Armenia Airways acceptable kennels All kennels

must comply with Armenia Airways requirements and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Live Animal Regulations standards to ensure that pets are safe and comfortable throughout the journey

Each kennel:

  • The kennel must be spacious enough for your pet to move freely, stand with their head held high, turn around, and lie in a natural position.

  • It should also be tall enough to allow your pet to stand and sit without their head or ear tips (whichever is higher) touching the top.

  • Make sure to purchase the kennel well before your travel date so your pet can adjust to the new environment.

Examples of acceptable and non-acceptable kennels are shown:

Acceptable:

  • Kennels should be constructed from rigid plastic, metal, or wood and have a metal grated door.

  • Kennels must be leak-proof and escape-proof. They should be in good working condition and secured using metal nuts, bolts, or screws. Ensure that screws are not exposed, as they can cause serious injury. It's common and acceptable for kennels to have nuts (or wingnuts) and metal bolts covered with a plastic coating on the outside.

  • Kennels must be adequately ventilated to ensure adequate airflow.

  • If applicable, you must remove, lock, or turn off the kennel wheels.

NOT acceptable:

  • Modified or adapted snap-side kennels, including those with nuts, bolts, or screws, as well as collapsible or folding kennels.

  • Plastic doors and top-opening mechanisms.

  • Plastic that bends when pressure is applied.
